Christianity Explored Preview

Christianity Explored is an informal way to investigate Christianity or just brush up on the basics. It explores who Jesus is, why he came and what it means to follow him.

You don’t need to know anything about the Bible. You won’t be asked to read aloud, pray or sing. You can ask any question you want.

We will meet wednesdays for 10-weeks from 7:00-8:15pm at Grace BFC beginning Feb. 2.  So invite your friends to join us! (invitations available at church or from Mark Bickel)

God’s Tent in the Camp and His Temple of Prayer

In one of the most amazing displays of God’s presence in the entire Old Testament God comes to the Israelites immediately after their rebellion with the Golden Calf and tells then that instead of leaving them or destroying them, instead he is going to come dwell in their midst.  He give Moses instructions to set up a tent for God in the center of the camp.  Once the people come into the promised land Solomon builds a permanent temple to God – but a temple not primarily for the religious people to come and worship, but rather a temple for those who have sinned to come and pray to God for forgiveness and restoration.  How do the Tabernacle and Temple picture Christ and what can we learn about God’s Presence Among Us today?

Join us on November 14 as we look at “God’s Tent in the Camp and His Temple of Prayer”

How Can You Serve?

What would you do to help your brother or sister?  What will you do this week to love and serve your brothers and sisters in Christ?  For several weeks we have been thinking about who we are and where we fit in Christ’s church.  We conclude today by casting a vision for loving and serving one another, and reaching beyond ourselves to reaching the community and world around us!  It is a call to be real, to be all God has created us to be, and to allow God to stretch us and make us into something much greater than we could even imagine.

Where Do you Fit?

When we come to Christ we become a part of His body, His people, His very family!  But what is our unique role in that family and how do we find the place we fit into the church?  This week we bring together some of the themes of the past few weeks as we have looked at who God says we are as we look at our unique place in partnering with and building up God’s people.

How Can You Develop Your Gifts?

What are “Spiritual Gifts” and do I have any?  Paul clearly believes that the Spirit of God has given gifts to His children, and that these are good for us and for the larger community.  But how is it that I discover and develop those gifts?  And what is the purpose of those gifts?  This week we want to look at both the Bible’s teaching on spiritual gifts as well as the larger picture it paints of ministry within the Body of Christ, looking for how God would call each of us individually to serve and trusting Him to enable us to do all He has called us to.

What are you Passionate About?

What are you passionate about?  What gets you most energized and excited?  How might God use the passions He has given you to further His kingdom?  This week we will be looking at Christ’s calling as well as the unique ministry He gave to different people throughout Scripture.  That will lead us to consider God’s unique call on each of our lives.  We will discuss how to discover and pursue the individual and corporate purposes of God for us.
