Join us for Young Adult Worship at Grace BFC beginning December 16.  An evening of worship led by our new college and career worship team followed by a Bible discussion and lots of time for good friends and fellowship.  Sundays at 6:30pm in Room 204-206.

International Student Thanksgiving

Sunday November 18 at 6:00 is our annual Thanksgiving Dinner for international students.  We are looking for people to cook some traditional thanksgiving foods  – we would need you to cook a particular dish and bring it to Widener at 6pm – we will provide instructions as well as trays for the food – please contact Emily Rothera to help, her email is ejreds@gmail.com.    We also need people to help assemble gift bags, make name tags, and some others to  join us that day at 3:00 to set up, and sit with the students at the dinner.  To help with any of these, or for more information please contact Mark Bickel, mbickel@gracebfc.org

Global Outreach Conference

Join us at Grace BFC for our annual Global Outreach Conference from Nov. 11-18.

Go and Tell His Story

Beginning next Sunday, Nov. 11 you will experience Missions as never before.  Children and Adults will be departing from GBFC (Grace Bible Flight Center) to travel together to several exciting destinations through the week.  You’ll learn via interactive, dynamic workshops how the Lord is working in ministries you love around the world. Here are some highlights:

  • Special Speakers:   Dr. Marvin Newell – Missionary to Papua, Indonesia, Professor of Missions at Moody Bible Institute, and currently serving as Associate Director of Missio Nexus.  Esther Zimmerman – Wife, mother, missionary child raised in Scotland, Director of BCM’s International Children’s Ministry Department.
  • Updates from around the World:  Indonesia, China, Russia, Montana, Haiti, North Carolina, Delaware County, and Morocco
  • Saturday morning in-homes “Breakfast with the Missionaries“!
  • Saturday Night Family Missions Festival – with Chili Cook-Off (including pasta, salad and other good food!) and Kids’ Kupcake Bake-Off!

Young Adult Bible Study Resumes

Resuming This Thursday – The Young Adults Bible Study and Prayer group  will begin again this Thursday at 7:00 pm with a  study of the topic of Trust.   For Single and Married young adults in their 20s and 30s.  Contact Nate and Katie Biermaas for more information.

Monday Night Soccer Returns

Returning – Young Adult Sports returns to Monday Nights!  For the fall we are planning to play Indoor Soccer Every Other Monday at 6:30pm in the Gym at Grace BFC.   This is a great night to invite other young adults for a fun night of competition.  If you have questions contact Danny Seal at dseal1@facebook.com

NEW College and Career Small Group

NEW – Join us each Sunday at 6:30 pm at the home of Chip and Nicole Harper for a time of food and fellowship, followed at 7:30 by worship and Bible Study. International Student Picnic – Saturday August 25 from 4-7 pm

Join us for a traditional American picnic, complete with Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Bar-B-Q Chicken, Corn on the Cob, and all the fixin’s.

International Friendship Network – You set up times to get together

Get connected with a family in the area, join them for a meal or special outing, and have someone to call on with questions or practical needs you may have.  You can sign up individually or with a friend or two.

Starting in early September we will offer times to just sit and talk, both learning English and learning more about each other and our cultures.

Welcome to America!  We want to help you, as an international student, have the best experience possible while you are here.  Our goal is to help you feel  at home, connecting you with each other as well as with people in the community.  Some of us come from local churches, some are part of the Widener community, some are neighbors, but we are all here for you.

Special Events

Throughout the year we will be hosting events where you can get to know each other better as well as experiencing some of our great American traditions. We want to provide a variety of on and off campus opportunities for friendship, places to ask questions and receive practical help, and times to have some fun with each other and those in the local community.

Crossroads Sunday Nights

Join other young adults for an encouraging evening together.  See below for several special outings.  Aside from those we will get together on Sunday evenings at 6:00 at Rose Tree Park for an informal time of worship, discussion of topics from life as seen through the lens of Scripture, and fellowship together.  If you enter Rose Tree Park from Providence Road go through the front parking lot through the park to back lot beyond the gazebo.  Look for us in the grass somewhere around the parking lot.  If it is raining or the weather is questionable check the crossroads web site or call Mark Bickel at 484-788-9026 to see if we have moved the meeting indoors.

Sunday Aug. 5 MissionsFest Aviation Day

We will leave church at noon, immediately after Bible Study Hour, to head to Smoketown Airport for MissionsFest’s Aviation day.  There is an opportunity to fly in a plane or helicopter.  Our own Josh Mills will be there representing JAARS and helping with the flight crew.  Food is available for purchase.  Crossroads in the Park will not meet.

Sunday Aug. 12 – Crossroads Picnic in the Park

Join us for a pot-luck picnic as part of Crossroads in the Park.  Evening will include food, worship, a discussion of “How can you make a difference this year?”, and an opportunity to help plan crossroads for the fall.  Rose Tree Park, 6:00 pm

Sunday Aug. 19 – Crossroads in the Park

Worship, then Jon Schmidt will be our guest leading a discussion on “What is the Church?  How do you select a church?” Rose Tree Park, 6:00 pm

Sunday Aug. 26 – Crossroads at Stackhouse Home 

Tom Stackhouse will be hosting us at his house for the evening.  We will want to know in advance how many people are coming.  More details later.

Sunday Sept. 2 – Crossroads Day at the Beach

Join us for Labor Day Sunday as we head to the beach!  We will leave church at noon, immediately after Bible Study Hour, to head to Ocean City NJ.  We will plan to stop at Wawa on the way if you want to grab some food, spend the afternoon on the beach, then the evening on the boardwalk.  Crossroads in the Park will not meet.

Bible Study and Prayer

Thursdays at 7 PM at Grace BFC, room 204

Each Thursday we gather to dig into God’s Word together and to pray for each other.  For the summer we will be looking at the book of Revelation. See Nate Beirmaas for more information, or if you would like to lead one week. Note Time for Summer: 7:00 pm 

College and Career Class

Sunday Bible Study Hour at 10:45 am at Grace BFC

Chip Harper will continue his class for college and career on Sunday Mornings looking at the Life of David through the Psalms.

Crossroads is the Young Adult Community at Grace Bible Fellowship Church.  Our missions is to reach our peers with the gospel and to help one another grow to be more like Christ in every aspect of our lives.

Summer Kick-off Bar B Q

Sunday, June 17, 6 PM @ Bickel’s

We are kicking off the summer with a cookout this Sunday, June 17, at Mark Bickel’s House.  Come anytime after 6pm, we will eat around 6:30.  Enjoy Cheese Burgers, Grilled Chicken, Corn on the Cob and Baked Beans.  Fell free to bring drinks, side dishes or desserts.  There will be lawn games, or table games if it rains, as well as time to just sit back and relax. If you are new to crossroads or have been away for a while this is a great night to come meet people.  Friends are welcome.  My house is 4 minutes from the church at 716 Columbus Court, Wallingford, PA 19086.  If you have any questions or get lost just call me on my cell phone at 484-788-9026
